Text messages from PorchLite
The PorchLite text message program is operated by Bear and Eddy, LLC.
PorchLite is a web and iOS app for people who share a second home with family and friends. We text people about a trip they're joining or a home they look after, and only when they typed in their own mobile number and checked a box saying they want texts. The box starts unchecked, and nobody has to check it to use PorchLite or to join a trip. We don't send marketing texts.
What we text
- A link to a trip, sent to guests who opt in to texts when they join it
- Replies from your host to a question you asked about your stay
- Reminders for owners and managers, such as schedule and trash-day reminders and a note that a guest arrives tomorrow
- A welcome text confirming you signed up for texts
- Urgent alerts about a home you help look after

Where people sign up
There are two sign-up points, and both sit behind a private link or a login. For each one, below is a screenshot from the app and then a working copy with the same wording and links. The copies are for review: nothing entered in them is saved or sent.
1. Guests joining a trip
A host shares a private trip link (my.porchlite.app/stay/…). Before the trip opens, each guest picks who they are and enters their own mobile number. The number is needed to open the trip. The text box under it is optional and starts unchecked; we text only when it's checked, and a checked box sends one text right away with the trip link, which also confirms the sign-up.

2. Owners setting up a home
Signed-in owners and managers can turn on reminder texts on the trash and recycling step of home setup. The box starts unchecked. Checking it shows a field for their own mobile number, and saving sends one confirmation text right away.
By checking the box, you agree to get automated texts from PorchLite at the number you enter: pickup reminders the day before, guest arrival reminders, and urgent alerts about your homes. 3. Replying START
Someone who replied STOP earlier can reply START to get texts again.
How to stop, and how to get help
- Reply STOP to any text to opt out. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT work too. We send one text confirming you're opted out, then nothing more.
- Reply START to opt back in.
- Reply HELP for help, or email support@porchlite.app.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Numbers we never text
We send automated texts only to numbers entered where the person agreed to receive texts. We don't text numbers a host adds to a booking or to someone else's profile. If you get a text you didn't sign up for, reply STOP.
